PROJECTS

According to Unesco, among the 860 million illiterate people in the world, two third are women. More than 110 millions of minors in the world have no access to school, and 56% of these are females. Nowhere in the world, development is sustainable without a good educational system, including primary and secondary school, research, and equal opportunities to enter it.. Education is the most important mean to defeat poverty. Every attempt to improve economy and quality of life, and reduce poverty may result successful only if there is a special attention towards education. Education provides people with the proper capacity and skills to participate in the social and economic activities of the country where they are living.

The demographic increase, together with poverty, discrimination, diseases and lack of a suitable public education, are the main factors that prevent people from the access to the educational system. According to the most recent international statistics, 61% of juvenile labour is concentrated in Asia. In Bangladesh, juvenile labour represents about 25% of the entire workforce of the country and the percentage of illiteracy is around 60%.We are working with the Bangladeshi local community to reduce the illiteracy rate in the poorest areas of the South, through the creation of village schools.
